Hima Das the Indian sensation of 400m Race

Just run the video. See the burst of energy at the last lap. The lightening speed of the light structure of an hitherto unknown Indian girl. She has the stamina, she has the zeal to execute. She is raised from a nondescript  village of Assam. She practised on a swampy, water-logged field, under the guidance of desi coaches. She is not complaining about almost anything. Such is her confidence that the world arena cannot intimidate her either. This is what is known as talent.

Her parents, Junali and Ranjit Das, are two unassuming village parents, nowhere near the modern world. Yet she brought such joy and pride to India.

The football world cup made Indian youth worship heros like Messi, Ronaldo, Neymer from another world. Now let us look within us and be proud of our own Hima Das and Deepa Karmakar.
